The Process
Step 1: Splatter
This particular piece was inspired by the feeling of celebration, so I wanted a whirlwind of energy
Step 2: Create the Scene
I started with the first thing that came to mind, and that was palm trees. I wanted them to have a dramatic glow, to emphasize the great discovery. I also added some wavy strokes for water to separate the sky from the scene.
Step 3: Flesh it Out
Building on the palm trees that were previously laid down, I surrounded them by mountains.
Step 4: Tie it All Together
I needed to balance out the composition, and I needed an explorer to navigate the depths of my subconscious and bring an X-factor into this new work... and then he appeared.
